J.,

Thanks. Racked up 109 miles today, my first full day of ownership. This bike has legs. Got up to 100-mph between Knoxville and the Dollywood exit. Solid as a rock. Wish the seat weren't so sloped toward the tank. May have to raise it a notch. It starts the commute to the gym and then onto Oak Ridge on Monday. The variable screen height is pretty awesome. It provided a lot of protection during a brief rain shower. Have to start thinking of farkles now. Just wish it had a helmet lock on the frame.
Take care over there. Great web site.

Congrats Pat! Let me know if you're ever in the Nashville area. We can trade road stories over some down home cookin'.

Jay,

I just bought a 06 ST1300 w/ 2600-mi. on it. Good price. 7-year extended axle-axle warranty and will pick it up this week. Have been riding most my life, but without a bike for the last 9-years. Couldn't pass this one up and the wife said; "Have fun"! I am a lucky man. My buddy, marty, and I are starting to plan a long bike trip to SF. I will meet him in Columbia, Mo. next year. He is in Cleveland.

Take care Jay!

Tucker - I'm not even close to a mid-life crisis...but it sure is good to hear from you!
Casey - my route is 2663 miles one-way (http://tinyurl.com/3dqf57). I rounded up a bit for any extra mileage.

How do you arrive at 6000 miles? Google maps gives me 4726 miles (give or take). Either way you're a crazy person.

I applaud your coping mechanism for your mid life crisis, However, I would schedule several visits to a Chiropactor, and plan hot tubs along the way. As an avid biker from the NE, I salute you, and warn you of "the after shiver".

No no no... trying to build your own rocket to fly to outerspace is possible suicide. Climbing Everest is very very very cold. Driving across the country in January is... ummmm.... very very cold too!

Lunatic is relative. Climbing Everest is lunacy, trying to build your own rocket to fly to outerspace is lunacy. I'm just driving across the country...in January.
