Road Atlanta…
I’m laying in my tent as I write this. Its a bit chilly out and I can’t muster the courage to get out of my sleeping bag. The sun is coming up through the condensation on the window of my tent.
Day 1 was a lot of fun. Gina, Michael and I got an early start. We arrived, set up camp and had some time to spare before the opening ceremonies.
Walking through the pit area I’m like a kid “ooh, there’s Mat Mladin‘s tent!”, “I just saw Aaron Yates“, “do you smell funnel cakes?”
Since this weekend has a Moto-GT race we went to seek out Paul James and his Buell team. Its always nice to hang with the James Gang crew. I basically walked up and they asked if I wanted to help– of course! Though the outcome wasn’t good, however, Jeff crashed at turn 1 after a bunch of delays with 20 minutes or so left in the race.
We got back to the tents and had a few beers with dinner. As the sun went down the louder some campers got. Shouting, engines revving until all hours of the night. Oh well, I never thought we were coming out here for some peace and quiet.
More races today then back home.

J., thanks again for helping us out on Saturday. It’s always an adventure isn’t it? I’m glad you and Michael and Gina enjoyed the races. I’m home now and already jonesing for Barber. Talk soon!

And when Paul says “barber,” he’s not talking about a haircut.
