Now I’ve done it…
I’ve sold the car. It’s gone to a very nice couple that needed a good commuter car. But, that leaves us with only the Xterra and my motorcycle…and it’s getting colder here. The initial due dilligence is done, I’ve purchased a better jacket and pants for cold weather. My heated handgrips have just arrived and need to be installed. Now I’m making my list of additional items I need/should get.

All of that said, the car has actually been sitting around for the last 7 months while I’ve chosen to commute to work on my bike. But, from here on out…I’m a year-round biker.
Wish me luck.

What’s the big deal. it snows you don’t go to work! That’s was always my excuse with summer tires. Getting to work could kill you. What better excuse not to go!

My boss would never buy that. The worst thing that could happen is that you may end up being a bus rider. Oh how humiliating!

The public transportation system around here is awful. I’d rather walk the 12 miles to work.

Tell your wife I want to know the first time you ask for the car.

Hi Jay – Heard you on Your Mac Life – I rode for two winters in NYC area – moving up from a One Cylinder to Two
– My uncle gave me his WW II leather jacket and I had gloves with wide wrist cuffs to keep air from going up sleeves. PS – this was 40 years ago.
In Snow – go Sloooow.

Wow! Good luck, buddy. Stay warm and ride safe. Lesa and I just bought heated Gerbing gear (jackets and gloves) so we can extend our riding season up here.

I ride whenever I can to work, and yes I have the flexibility to work from home when the roads aren’t safe. Let me put it this way, since july….31 miles in the car, over 10k on the bike….
